Based on actual events of American serial killer Edmund Kemper, who murdered his grandparents at age 15 and, after being paroled for that crime, killed eight women in 1972 and 1973 including his own mother.’
Okay, don’t go into this one expecting anything on the level of ‘Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer’ (1986) which is still the benchmark serial-killer movie or anything superbly engaging like ‘Se7en’ (1995) or ‘Zodiac’ (2007), because this is a B-movie exploitation flick. Having said that, Brandon Kirk is pretty good and creepy as the central character, the various gore and make-up f/x are very realistically done (sometimes too much so in the dismemberment scenes!) and the scenes between him and his mother are funny and engaging. So it’s worth watching if you like this kind of thing, but be forewarned that it is very violent.
